Note: Visual Arts and Theatre scores are based exclusively on classroom-based assessments. There are no written exams in these subjects.
WHERE: MOST exams will be held at the Melody Event Center: 615 SE Alder St, Portland, OR 97214. You must find your own transportation; we recommend Exams in Physics, Mandarin, German, WorldReligions, Chemistry, and French, as well as ALL Language listening exams are scheduled at Cleveland (see for exact locations). In addition, èßäÊÓÆµ with accommodations will take their exams entirely at Cleveland, typically in Portable 1
WHEN: ALL morning exams require that you arrive at the testing location at 8:30 am for a 9 am start time. ALL afternoon exams require that you arrive at the testing location by 12:30 pm for a 1 pm start time.Please note that all exams take place over two days with the exception of Mathematics HL (three days). You must attend all days and complete all parts of the exam in order to receive a score.•
Exam Rules & Tips1. Be on time. We cannot seat èßäÊÓÆµ for the exam after the session has begun. Report to the assigned testing location at 8:30 AM for a morning exam and 12:30 AM for afternoon exams.2. Bring your ID (èßäÊÓÆµ ID or driver’s license) - this must èßäÊÓÆµ on the testing table throughout the exam.3. No talking once you enter the testing room - even before the exam has begun, per IB rules.4. All èßäÊÓÆµ are released at the same time to comply with IB exam security requirements and to respect each student’s full testing time. If you finish early, you must wait until everyone is released. The earliest release for any exam will be 10:30 for AM exams and 2:30 for PM exams. You cannot be released for another activity.5. No cell phones or other electronic devices allowed on a person. All phones must be turned off and stowed in a backpack stored outside the testing room. If a phone or device is found on a person, that is a breach of IB regulations and must be reported to IB.6. No watches (smart, digital, or analog) on your person.7. No bags or backpacks allowed at a testing table. They can be stored in the secure areas outside the testing rooms.8. No food in the exam room. Students may bring their own food to eat in the Hawthorne room9. No beverages besides water. Water is allowed ONLY in a clear, see-through bottle and placed on the floor. One option is to rip off the label of a purchased water bottle.10. IB requires that all calculators used for an IB Exam be cleared both before and after each exam. To ensure a smooth start to each exam and full compliance with IB policies, please review our .11. Please see for a full list of approved and prohibited calculator models.13. Bring ball point pens and pencils. Blue or black ink only. No gel or liquid ink. Pencils are only needed for You may also bring regular or mechanical pencils.14. No pencil cases - pens/pencils must be stored in a see through bag (like a zip-loc)15. Please be prepared for different temperatures and bring layers of clothing.16. There are no make-up exams. IB does not reschedule exams unless “there is a circumstance of extreme nature that threatens the safety of candidates and/or teachers (for example civil unrest, natural disaster).” If you miss the exam for any reason, you are not able to retake it and your score for that testing component will be a zero.17. If medical issues arise that preclude you from attending the exam, you will need to provide medical documentation to petition for a medical exemption (IB will need to approve the exemption). Without documentation your score for that testing component will be a zero.18. We will clear student absences on testing days with the attendance office. Students will be cleared for the full day on the date of an exam. Note! *If you are on campus you are expected to be in your class.*19. Exam results will be available online on July 6th. You will receive an email in May with your PIN code and instructions on how to look up your scores.20. Seniors: Please confirm the college or university that you plan to attend in Maia Learning. IB will send your scores to one college or university (one free of charge). Afterwards, you are responsible for having your own scores sent. IB will charge for this service.21. - Where do I go to take my exams?
All Cleveland High School IB exams will take place at either or Cleveland High School according to. All subject exams include two to three component exams and are scheduled over two days, except for Math Analysis HL, which is scheduled over three days. You can use the Trivory app to track IB exam dates and locations.
Note: IB exams in Physics, Env. Soc. & Sys. Paper 1, World Religions, Mandarin, German, French, all Language B listening exams, and all exams with approved accommodations are scheduled at Cleveland.
- What should I bring with me?
Be sure to bring two or more ballpoint pens (black or blue), an for designated math and science exams, and a clear, see-through water bottle. Review a complete list of what to bring and what not to bring in the.
- Am I excused from my classes during my exams?
Yes. You will be EXCUSED for the full day on the date of each of your scheduled exams - either AM or PM. However, you are encouraged to attend class whenever your exam schedule allows you to do so. Please be aware of each individual teacher’s plans for the classes you miss, and requirements, if any, for make-up work.
- When will I know my results?
Your scores will be available at on July 6th, 2025 anytime after 12 p.m. You will be emailed an individual Personal Code and PIN in April that you can use to access your results. PLEASE save this email/information in a safe location. In the event that you lose your codes, please contact the IB Coordinator, Jamie Incorvia, at jincorvia@pps.net.
- How do I send my scores to my college?
Seniors will be asked to complete a survey and indicate the college they will be attending in the fall. IB Results for seniors will be forwarded to the college they plan to attend in Fall 2025 for the purpose of obtaining credit or advanced placement. If you are taking a gap year, you will need to order an IB transcript when you enroll in college. You must do this by using the form and process on the IB website at and paying the required $18 fee. Keep your email with your personal code and session number, as you will need these to order a transcript. We will forward IB results for juniors taking exams next year, when they are seniors. - Is it too late to withdraw from IB exams?
If you are still enrolled in your IB course, we strongly encourage you to stick with your plan to participate in exams. Unfortunately, èßäÊÓÆµ withdrawing after January 15, 2025 forfeit their payment of exam fees AND must also reimburse the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) $20 for each subject withdrawal. Students accessing financial aid options or payment plans may owe additional fees, up to the full amount of $123/subject.
