PREP is an innovative, holistic approach to learning designed by educators in èßäÊÓƵ’ alternative high èßäÊÓƵs. The theory of action behind PREP is in the name: when learning is Personalized and Relevant, èßäÊÓƵ will be Engaged and prepared for Postsecondary success. 

PREP integrates project-based instruction with career connected learning experiences and social emotional support to remove barriers for underserved èßäÊÓƵ and create enlivening learning opportunities for all èßäÊÓƵ. In PREP èßäÊÓƵs, èßäÊÓƵ learn by tackling challenging, real-world problems that are meaningful to them. PREP educators routinely collaborate within and across disciplines to co-create learning experiences with èßäÊÓƵ, families, and community and industry partners. Students’ social and emotional development is a central learning objective, bolstered by relationships with advisors, counselors, and onsite social workers.

Aligned with our district’s vision, PREP’s ultimate goal is for all èßäÊÓƵ to graduate from high èßäÊÓƵ as compassionate critical thinkers, able to collaborate and solve problems and prepared to lead a more socially just world.

PREP supports innovation in secondary èßäÊÓƵs across the district and is based in the Multiple Pathways to Graduation Department, home to PPS’ extensive alternative education options.
