• Our Mission

Our mission as Roosevelt High School counselors is to advocate for all èßäÊÓƵ and provide a comprehensive program that will assist them in acquiring the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to become effective èßäÊÓƵ, responsible community members, productive workers and lifelong learners. School counselors are an integral part of the èßäÊÓƵ community who address the personal/social, academic and college/career needs of all èßäÊÓƵ. School counselors collaborate with èßäÊÓƵ, teachers, administrators, families, community members and partner organizations to deliver a comprehensive èßäÊÓƵ counseling program.

Secondary (high èßäÊÓƵ) èßäÊÓƵ counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. The professional high èßäÊÓƵ counselor holds a masters degree and requires state certification in èßäÊÓƵ counseling. Maintaining certification includes on-going professional development to èßäÊÓƵ current with educational reform and challenges facing today’s èßäÊÓƵ. Professional èßäÊÓƵ counselors align and work with the èßäÊÓƵs' mission to support the academic achievement of all èßäÊÓƵ as they prepare for the ever-changing world of the 21st century. School counseling programs are essential for èßäÊÓƵ to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize full academic potential to become productive, contributing members of the world community. The Roosevelt Campus School Counseling program adheres to the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Standards in academic, personal/social, and career development as a foundation for our work.

As èßäÊÓƵ counselors, we work and partner with families, teachers, èßäÊÓƵ staff, and community partners to address the needs of our èßäÊÓƵ through the following means:
